FAQs

How do I register my group for a Festival?

There are two ways to register for an ADFA event: You can download the forms and send them by fax or mail to your Regional Director, or you can fill out an electronic copy of the forms here.

How long can the play be?

All entries must have a running time of at least 10 minutes and not more than 60 minutes.

What does it cost to enter?

The fee to enter is $25.00, which will also make you a member of ADFA. There may be an additional regional membership charge to help cover some of the costs of the Regional Festival.

Once I register online, is my registration complete?

No. To complete your registration, you must submit any fees and have your registration approved by your Regional Director or another ADFA Director. The ADFA will work with you to ensure that a complete application is submitted and that a successful registration has been made.

Who do I contact?

The Regional Directors can assist with entries and provide rules for the participants. Contact info for all of the reps can be found here.

What happens if my group is selected at the Regional level?

You will then be eligible to come to the ADFA Provincial One Act Festival to represent your region with a certain subset of your expenses eligible to be covered.

Is there an award for new works?

Yes, at both the regional and provincial levels, provided that there are at least 2 new work entries.
