The rain couldn't keep the crowds away on Sunday April 28th at the ADFA North Region East Adult One Act Festival, held in Keyano Theatre's spectacular Recital Theatre, the audience (one of the largest in the region's history!) were treated to an eclectic afternoon of incredibly strong local talent.

The festival began with a staged reading of local playwrights Nolan Haukeness' hilarious Order of the Black Cloaks, which was workshopped to appear in the Canadian Fringe Circuit. Up next was an inspiring and ground breaking piece of theatre in Tonight with Autism - a brave exploration of taboo issues bringing the subject of autism into the open.

The afternoon took a different turn with an erotic and tantalizing thriller in Downstage Bunnies' presentation of Barefoot in Nightgown by Candlelight written by Don Nigro, and finally a tour-de-force performance by the incredible actress Pattie Dwyer in Daniel MacIvors' haunting See Bob Run.

There was plenty of laughter, a few tears, and several powerful moments over the afternoon rounding out an exciting and unique afternoon at the theatre!
